Actually I'm not going to name players that was maybe best, but i had most respect and still got coz they helped me with E alot to get it better. The follwing are:

back in the day we used to play with this sorta line up in 3v

- hokie
- yoshi
- abu
- exe
- snugg

i remember we crushed a lot of teams/clans with that line up

 

damn i used to love playing with that lineup   , felt so good winning vs. like -HaZe- or bOveld or owng.perf  or sL` 

when 4 out of our 5 were playing w/ 100 ping.  But the communication and teamwork in that lineup was insane, hok would move us around like pawns... but it made it so every time we watched snugg clutch it felt like WE clutched... the vibe really was different, with every different group of 5

omg [B] back then was legit the best out of any clan or any team when you guys had your best online... was a shame you guys were on so rarely, usually if you had 5 it included Button or henk or someone that was good but not great like those 5.  i honestly think blue gave hok more trouble than any other player... we were so convinced he hacked off FP, but I really don't know... I know he liked to not use it so he could have 333fps.  Either way, he was still definitely a very good player on fairplay

Tbh, it's nearly impossible to pin point the all time best lineup. For example when PONY existed, we didn't lose a single game, we literally won everything. This was a different era though, you didn't have C4 etc. We did own every other team out there though.

Sylt is almost never mentioned in these topics, but he was easily one of the best players when he still gave a fuck.

 

 

For me personally, the best clan and team were C4 and Avelgem. (Hurts my aMex heart to say this  , though I was Avelgem as well as aMex lol).

The fact they're RL friends, actually meeting up etc, made them even better in sof I think. For a long time c4 was nearly unbeatable, unless they'd show up with some B team.

 

And me personally, while I do think I was one of the best players around, I don't belong in any of these lineups, simply because I wasn't really the player playing for top clans or teams. I loved the times with starelite for example, easily the most fun I had on sof.

ya, i remember that era.  You always claimed "you didn't even really play sof2," back then, "kev plays this game not me, because I'm not a nerd who nolifes a videogame and actually cares about a demo."

 

Yet here you still are.    Just the world changed, and video games are cool now, so now you're willing to allow yourself to see it the way I always saw it.  Now it's okay to be passionate about, it's nothing to be ashamed of.  But you know who the next best clan back then?  eGang.  Think about that for a second. 

 

PONY` was the Sammy Sosa of sof2 mp_test, and eGang was Mark McGuire, yet 18 years later you're trying to claim they're Micky Mantle, Teddy Ballgame, Messi, Ronaldo, Pele, MJ or Babe just because Sylt made a pretty little site back in the day and sold you a (pretty legendary, I'll admit) hotdog with PONY` pwns all` written in ketchup w/ no mustard and convinced you all forever that it's the Sultan of Swat, the King of Clash, The Titan of Terror, The Colossus of Clout, The Colossus of Clout, The Great Bambin0.

or malydok/c1/shivus as the 5th was such a dangerous team, could honestly beat anyone if windows or darkness decided to be the best aimer on the planet that day... which, they both definitely had their days.  They had an extra level they could go to when they were really feeling it and you hyped them up right, only other I've ever really seen like it is st4ff

I wish the old forums were still around, you'd be surprised to find out I was one of the first one to ring the bell about PeaCy. I was the one who busted him for wallhacking. Can't even remember that he played for PONY, definitely not due to me if he did. I hated that guy.

Kev played way more than I did in that era, because I was like 12-13 y/o, didn't have my own pc etc.

I eventually FREAKED OUT in Ventrilo when I came up with  3v. and was like, THAT'S IT, it needs the dot after it to balance it out (I vividly remember standing by the cabinet in west in an empty server with hok + maybe 1 or 2 others as I said this, facing the back left corner of that wall in west)

 but then I asked what could it mean?  "Three..." and hokie was SHHHH, STFU.  And after like 2 seconds of silence, he's like, Veni, Vici, Vidi.  I came, I saw, I conquered.

LOL and then he basically put me on bitch duty for the next year and a half, told me I wasn't allowed in yet, was only a trial, so I'd get one trial war like once a month, usually vs a real good clan like HaZe, and I'd do decent on blue, but I'd just rolled on red trying to hold caseroom with hok... would go like 3/16, hok would be like 4 or 5/15, we lose like 10-3, and I'd get kicked.  At least 4 or 5 times, with a few months wait in between trial wars where I'd work with hok 1on1 every night and he'd teach me things that I could use in clanwars, then we'd fight main-case.  Sometimes zioni & prod & yosh & outy & ta|on & jaron & jojo & abu  would join for anything from 2v2 to 4v4's, late at night, either against eachother or sometimes we'd 4v4 or even 5v5 -=OG=- when they had enough on.  But in the mean time, I had been in [ShiftTM] back in 2003 with jaron and koop, not sure who else, I remember like half a dozen times I used to whisper him someone who I thought was hacking that was trying to hide it, like a random player that was 11/3 that just killed me in a really sketchy way... and after he watched them, saw they were cheating, and banned a bunch of them, I just asked if I could apply to be an admin, and he just sent me the rconpassword.  Then I joined [ShiftTM] ... honestly those were some of my happiest days in sof2, I just had always had a great time playing the game

 

but we started inflixi together with him & koop as leaders, me as the first member.  Recruited ZioNi, MuSh, who went onto join 3v. had a real nice core with StuNNa*, shifty, kj, tommyD, m4th.n4p
