That advantage was what I was talking about. People whine about FPS problems in sof2, hey it's fucking 2010. I don't care I still defend my opinion, everything shuold be default. I play on my laptop, all graphics on low, and I get 125 in shop ( go check my SS 6112d ). I don't know what quaity you guys use, but even with the computer that I used before the computer that I used bfore my laptop ( like in 2003) I could get 80, so don't come with FPS excuses!

shifty, the vertexlight on roof for me is an advantage because i see everything much clearer

If someone is using vertex light there is advantages and disadvantages, in conf the whole background behind the case is black which doesn't allow you to snipe easily and the helipad is also black. Thought there is one more thing which would be nice, I didn't follow your process fully but it's fucked up that Fairplay (at least the old one) only accepts some files in the folder demo. That avoids you can't play other maps unless you play goldmaps with the gold-fp version, but like new made maps are not possible to play.

Now that's not really a hasty detail but if you could work on that it's nice since I make maps you know. In gold it's also possible to download maps and play with punkbuster the same time, so just wondering if you could work on that if you got time.

I like you being honest, and not talking about FPS issues. Despite the fact that we also demanded to get overbrightbits blocked along with lightmap and fullbright in full through the 2k3RPM that is used in full.
Look I don't want to be an ass here, of course I could use vertexlight too. That is not the problem. All I want is (at least now it's possible), that everybody plays the default game. Of course you don't only have advantages over me but also disadvantages when I use default map and you use vertexlight. But the thing is, I want the advantages and disadvantages to be equal for everybody.

Don't get me wrong. I don't want this disabled because I want to annoy you guys. But I'd rather have either vertexlight only or no vertexlight, and this would count for all the other commands too. And I won't cry or stop playing this game if this command isn't disabled. But please try to look at it from a neutral perspective, instead of of your favor, and then think of it again.

Or I don't know if demo-players want it that bad, than at least disable it for full, since no one in full knew about this command until it was introduced by FP itself. I mean overbrightbits and shit are blocked by RPM in full anyway in contrary to demo.

vertexlight gives nice amount of FPS-boost.
I don't exactly understand how you see enemys visually better on roof with that(perhaps 'its a hash cmd!!!'-placebo?!?).
PS! If you change your settings to 'FASTEST'(atleast applies to demo with no fp) and vid_restart, vertexlight will be on. You don't have an option to enable/disable lightmap, thirdperson etc anywhere, right? .
many of the commands shouldn't exist in sof2, but suppose they're left in from the q3 engine.


there are commands which give advantages/disadvantages depending on the situation, i.e vertexlight gives fps boost(+), many parts of the map are black(-), better visibility on roof(+)[:S?]
on the other hand lightmap&fullbright change the map completely to lighter one and as you know, the models are dark.
jst like u can use fov 100 to see little bit wider, tho it might be "disadvantage" to those who are bad at 'long' range aiming(atleast it gives impression that things are further).

if RPM could block overbrightbits "and shit", you can aswell make it block vertexlight.

and as for overbrightbits..not gonna even discuss that tbh, i use it mostly for moviemaking(if even that) only ;s

Man, it's nothing... I don't see anything wrong with r_fullbright either but it's blocked already anyway, at least it didn't help people from lagging, this does.

before any anticheats popped up, I played with vertexlight(rcon sv_cheats 1, r_vertexlight 1, vid_restart, sv_cheats 0, damn im bad boy but how many servers i had rconpw in anyways, eh )
now the whole time fp was around 99% of time i played vertexlight off, i dont think i got any worse ;O

Well to be honest I did not know anything about this command vertexlight, tried it once with fp and it didn't allow it, now this new fp allows it and my fps improved a lot, even in nades i get a stable fps which is good enough for me. Without vertexlight it'd never happen. Now you suggesting the makers of fp to take it off would really piss me off.

You are a 'full' player I assume then maybe if its possible for shifty to disallow it on full only you should talk to him about that. All demo players here have no problem with it, so shifty i request you to not to disallow vertexlight thanks
