devaz sent me one demo and it kept spamming this in console:

id take a wild guess and say it wouldnt do so if i launched my sof with rpm but too lazy to try ;-D



(demo itself worked and played from beginning to end perfectly)

Thats the extra "teammate info" RPM sends to RPM clients for locations, weapons, etc. He recorded the demo using RPM, so he needs to view the demo using RPM to take advantage of the extra info that RPM sends.

Those messages are harmless though, so it can be viewed on vanilla without cause problems, but its always best to view the demo in the mod it was recorded with.

I believe it works as long as the server has 3rd enabled / toggleable (or you do not run a mod that requires the server to enable it). I could be wrong, but thats been my experience in the few demos Ive tried.

On another note, I just got finished trying to create a mini-Refrag2 setup in the nv mod client for demo play back. I mananged to get a lot done in the short amount of time. i.e. keys for toggling 1st/3rd, drawing entities, the world, time control (ie, stop or increase speed), some basic camera movements such as zooming and rotating, crosshairs, friendly icons, and of course the scoreboard working and updating properly.

I dont know Refrag indepth but I believe there are free floating cameras, tracking, and rotating on various axis which I didnt mess with. I doubt it will get to the ReFrag level, but it might be something useful. If its something players will be interested in, I will continue to see what I can add. If not then Ill probably release what I have now after a little be of clean up.

What about moving around the world for some sick action shots for moviemakers? I think refrag had it, you aren't forced to watch yourself only playing in certain view.

god put it all part of your mod and replace rpm and become the dominant mod in full and dont share it!

I did and Im not going to share! No one gets it ... muuaaaah ah ah ahhh.

But serioulsy, I think in general everyones happy with the mods that are available. Theres no need for anything new to be added to sof2 at this point.

I just watched my kam2 scrim vs nvious, only thing that was messed up were scoreboards for some reason they didn't show all players and showed false scores like 0/39 etc

and scoreboard stuff probably cause of rpm messin with it..try loadin rpm first before watching demo ;D?

I have a question. Can someone tell me what this recording is. Is it a video of you playing sof, which they call a record? I dont see the use of this, since FP doenst allow you to hack anyway. Whats the use of recording then?

Maybe im stupid, but didnt quiet understand why you guys would record urself.

Its a video of you playing, watching your recording aka speccing yourself. for example the hack turqua was busted with the HUD thingy, record would prevent this in cups prolly

Dude looks like ur trying to say recording is totally useless and no proper reason to do it. If someone chooses to record he has his reasons. Though if recording would become as mandatory like in demo you'd be force to record so people has the right to see how you played.. i guess?
