thats one thing i have to agree with rippa, the more a player is "known" here or just how good he plays, the more we care about his opinion. not very much of us give people we dont know, or people who aint as good as most here, a chance...

Here's my opinion, lots of you guys won't care, as i am not an 'oldschool' member and lots won't agree with me. But hopefully some will read this and agree.

DemoBase:

Good:

- More about skills
- More Skilled players
- More Euro servers - low ping for players
- More competetive
- More exiciting, CUPS, tournaments, SOTW [ inactive i think ] etc.

Bad:

- Flame all the time
- Only 1-4 major active 'pro' clans.
- 'Corrupt' i guess. example. In Cheaters u always see demos and shit. If its a nub, straight away ther busted. If its a pro, they some how get away with it no matter how obvious the demo is, coz of admin friends, clan friends etc.
- 'Snobby' i guess. Like, You guys think ur so good [ dont get me wrong you guys are probably the best in sof2 demo ], but u are a bit 'snobby'. U call others noobs and act like ur the best. And also USA players dont mind playing in euro servers, they hav like 100 ping i think? BUT euros NEVER EVER play in USA servers [ especially not wars ], reason why? 'MY PING IS SO HIGH, 100! I cant play with 100 ping.' tbh harden the fuck up, if usa players can play in euro servers why cant euro players just stfu for once and play with a bit of ping and stop complaing. FFS im from australia, there are NO aussie rented servers, so most of the time i play in usa sevrers, like nuke and notag, ther i hav 250 ping. i dont ever complain. Who gives a fuck if u have 100 ping, i would be grateful if i had 100 ping in rented server, but i dont, so i guess u guys just need to toughen up a bit, u say ur the best but maybe some usa players are better, but they always play with 100 ping, whie some of u guys have like 10 ping.
- Everyone not equal - ppl more advantaged, espeically in cheaters section.

NoTag:

Good
- Friendly -no flame ever
- Nice admins
- Nice server
- Everyone is accepted
- Good forum

Bad
- M4 in server
- i guess a lower standard of skill


CONCLUSION:

Notag as a community is 10x better than demobase. but demobase is better as a gaming forum. Demobase, stop with the flaming, especially in cheaters bit.

SOLUTION:
In cheaters, if they are suspected, post a poll, people vote, and give it a week or so. at the end if its more yes than no, then put them busted no matter who the fuck he is. even if its xillax, creator of db, who cares.

Well id like to comment some of the things you said;

idea of making max 10ppl clan -
wont work simply because you usually dont get 5ppl at the same time.
Mostly something like 6people are most active but sometimes you need this guy who plays 2-3wars a week to have 5vs5 war. If you make more clans but with max 10ppl it will result in lesser activity, more vipping.

introducing clans like egg(inactive!), nuke and all others -
good idea it would probably help them to get better,
elevate general level of gaming @servers.

Tournaments -
not really they will help in raising actvity, as i see it its 3/4 guys are pub players dont gving a damn about clan thing and tournaments. So improving pub is priority imo.

New server -
great idea, we need new good 32 slots server just like -TheEgg-
but with admins.

Hostility - i gotta agree with rippa that there are many people here activing like they are Gods or something and they really spoil demobase atmosphere.

Noob Cheaters- they often spoil pub games but no one gives a shit, but they spoil fun for noobs and if the noobs stop playing game will die. Maybe we should make a global ban list? And contact all INF, TDM admins and convience them to respect that list? I guess notag would accept that idea.

Mixwars - they dont kill clan gaming, clan gaming is dying thats why people play mixes not other way around.

Some hope;
There are still new clans maybe not of great skill but i noticed quite active new clans lately;
sG! TraX ToS - means new people are coming to clan scene
and my clan bro| we exist 19days and played 47cw's already so i guess that clan scene is not that all dead.

about the friendspolitic is kinda bs. I became admin of servers and admin in cups and a mod in a cup without any friendspolitics. They administrators of the cups and servers gave me a change and I toke it to do something for demobase. And ofc it is a lot easier when ppl know you and you want to do something, but that is the same in notag. When I ask their to become admin or whatever they will say no, because of they do not know me, becuase you play more in your own community you will get knowed better and you can help ppl with cups or other things. So they friend politics is kinda bs.

Notag is more like a regime. If you broke the rules once you will get banned forever. You will not get a second change. Look to our community. Some ppl had so many changes to return in here or in the servers. Here you can ask easily why your banned or other things. In notag theirs no point of returning back. What is kinda logical, but the second change in db is also good.

And the war problem of the pings you always will have. You guys are playing for fun and we want to win. So you guys will war in a euro server and most will not war in a American server. And if the Notag community is so big why I always see the same nte and team american joining in a cup. Always the same ppl.

And maby notag is so active, but when you look on their forum their are way many new posts then on this forum. Maby the notag clan sections are active, but I am not a notag member so I can not see what is happening in a section. The public forum in here is much more activer.

And about the servers. It is just where you like to play.

And the flame wars. Everybody is compaining about te flame wars, but that flame wars are always in the same topics. Always in the cheater section or war section. In a descent topic like this one or others I do not see any big flame. Mostly the same guys with useless posts, but you get used about it.

Every community has his positieves sides and his weak sides. And I guess this is the wrong time for a good topic like these, because it will get summer and ppl are getting out of their room to the streets and the go on holiday. I see it in myself. Wednesday I got my last examen and I got holiday. I will go on vacation and I will go to the city and having fun more and more, because of the nice weather.

After the summer you have to evaluate all and bring some new cups like dm cup, nations cup and some quik cups for the clans or teams

emorippa is taken from EMODI, who whines about friends politics all day long. I wouldn't not because i'm a whining little bitch, but because I DONT HAVE TO, since this is a EURO community ( with americans in them, ofc, but the majority is europian, the serverhosts here are europian, cmon even hokie hosts euro servers ) so i shoudl be able to play in a proper ( for me ) server.

Improving public play is not neccesary too me, as loads of people just play for the wars. Offcourse public is fun, but wars are better and more compettive.

Rippa says we all are offensive, hostile w/e. And while doing so he's continuously calling us whining little bitches, stuff like that. Hypocrite much ? he's not a credible person to listen too. He never was, even before this, as he is a proven liar and busted cheater anyways.

10 people clan could work, 5 people clans too.

Let's give an example of another game ( not an FPS ).

in GuildWars, the principle of a CW ( GvG there ) is an 8v8 principle. They often play with the same 8 players, EVERY DAY. So if you could use that principle ( just with 10 people, so you have some backup ofc ) to just have people that want to be active around 7~11 euro time somewhere between that, so that most clans have 5 on around then ( people should be willing to be active as much as possible if you wish to keep the activity up as high as we're talking about ) And alot of wars would happen.


To further go into the "Oh no i can't play with a 100 ping" crap.

Half a year ago or something, the dominant serverhost was sServ because they offered good cheap servers. But people like me and Jayro, and others had problems with these servers, pingwise. They were about 150 all the time. We did play at those servers, because there simply wasn't that much choise ( ofc there were lowpings around, but most clans would rather play on sServ ).

Lol at Biggie posting screenshots of players in server. You are the right man for SiK clan, Biggie. Last night I saw dads Superserver: 24/22 (2 private slots full), and NoTag: 3/30 - It all depends on the time of the day when you take teh screenshot you ignorant douche. Look at my signature, there you can see the server activity. You may see that the server is VERY ACTIVE at nights (from 6 PM till about midnight GMT+1), so I got nothing to complain about. Oh and by the way, dads Superserver has a new admin list, which should make the game more pleasant for everyone (apart from assholes like you who were still eating their own shit while ppl like me were already raping in this game). Every time, the last 4 days when I entered my server, at the times that I play sof, there are 1-2 admins in the server, and I haven't seen any flaming or admin abuse.
Also, you can't compare the skill level of NoTag with dads Superserver... - Even though NoTag has a very good community.

This demo will die in a couple of years.. there's no denying that it has had its best time (a couple of years ago). We must admit that a game always becomes more inactive as time passes by, especially a MP Test over a time period of about 7 years now. The fact that sof2 mp test is a dieing game, also has to do with the way this community has changed. Back in the days, there were constantly tournaments (inf cup, nations cup,...), people were active, clans actualy organised TRAINING HOURS, to prepare for tournaments. Over the years this community has lost some of its most active members and admins, and we can't deny that this community has become more of a "passive" community, in which its members are constantly posting about clans, clanwars and cheaters, but the community is not actualy participating in it. For example, this "DemoBase League" or whatever it was that burpicane and xillax were making.. It's not going to do the trick, believe me. You only need to ORGANISE more cups. Organising cups, getting more active ADMINS and MODERATORS that actualy BAN troublemakers in this forum, could make the sof 2 mp test a whole better place. Ofcourse, these days it's hard to find people that are motivated, and that are OBJECTIVE in being a demobase admin. - So unless some BIG changes are made around here, sof 2 mp test will stay the same (at least for the european community), untill it dies. People are mostly playing at nights (and weekends during the day), and playing clanwars (always same clans vs eachother). Eventualy, people get bored (as most of the old players around here are already).
Keep in mind that I am not judging this community by far. If this is the way you people want to keep playing this game, fine. Perhaps now you people see why I am trying to get dads Superserver more active with happy hours and tournaments. To bring back the pleasure of public sof.
I hope the game will change in a positive and progressive way.
