Magikz, I am sorry if I have offended you and I find it adorable you are worried about my mental health, but I can assure you I was under no influence of drugs when replying to you. maybe talk to forgy he might very well be on adderal with all dem wall of texts.

I don't understand some specifics of your idea so I'll be assuming few details you probably thought about otherwise, but your idea is flawed because if we make a "top 10 games 2014" video of any sorts, it probably wont be doing any good for SoF2. Why? First and foremost it would probably show SoF2 in negative light compared to newer games, after all SoF2 is based on an outdated Q3 and actually a lot of competent gamers are aware of SoF2(and most likely also partook in sof2 gold in its prime or other variations of sof2) or just Q3-engine and related games and while they might be missing some elements from those games they've all moved on. The other 9 games in the video will outshine sof2 due to lack of features and graphics mostly. sof2 war searching is essentially hopping from one server to another asking people around for a scrim, which obviously is outdated as fuck when you look at currently popular games such as CSGO and LoL that handle that part of the game with pretty much automatic systems that require 1-2 clicks from the user to get into a competitive match in a matter of seconds. these systems also handle all sorts of ranking placements(so everything you've accomplished in game can be easily shown off to other players whereas in sof2 you just got bragging rights, 'i won c4 yesterday heh'), team setups etc IN GAME while sof2 at best could come up with some stupid ladder-like website and perhaps irc channel to automate some parts of this process. also the state and flow of the game, which has been pretty stagnant for yeaaaaaaars will throw off many players once they learn more about this game. maybe you should start focusing on changing how the game is played because on paper, while we have done so for many years, playing one map in mostly one gametype is not appealing, at all. I could go on but what's the point? and just because me and fox and some other people have been dick to you, fox brings up good point in his last post. inviting people to play sof2 in the state it currently is, is like inviting people to a house party with your mom and 1 year old sister when people have better and more appealing options available.

I read most (or all) of your posts forgy (or should I call them 'walls of text' like most people here?) and I think there's more than only 3 guys reading them. There's probably more people like me who don't post a lot but love reading demobase threads!

 

I agree with Forgy though most people think he's a troller or a faggot; SOF2 could be revived but it would take more effort then most of people here think. I wish we had the community to revive it, but I'm affraid we don't

 

BUT, if one day we sucess in changing the way we play the game (maps, gamemodes, weapons enabled, etc.), I think one way we could promote it is through youtube. Youtube is a lot popular and there's gamers out there that have over 100 000 suscribers (and way more) that could help us if we have the right way to ask them. We could show them the game and make them play for a few weeks and then, if they like the concept and shit, they could make videos on it and make more people aware of this game. I don't know.

 

I doubt people will read what I wrote and I guess I'll get some 'retard' and 'faggot' here and there, but that's what I think

You're right on the fact they want more recent games and all, but I'm sure there are youtubers, if we find the good ones, that are willing to give it a try!

 

But yeah, I've never really been on twitch except for a few occasions but it sounds good to me. But like you said, camping and glitching might kill it all!

to LEGIT revive sof you would need someone to do some "hd remix bs" like csgo to 1.6. Pretty much remake the game because nobody is gonna show interest in a demo version of an old dead game.
