When CM is on and it mr's after 1 team got 10 points, my sof closes and says: 'bad magic' or 'sof2mp.exe has stopped working'. Do you know why this happens?

I've cleaned up the thread a bit.

Hendruck's problem seems to be related to "r_mode -1", which enables r_customWidth and r_customHeight. If r_mode is set to -1, SoF2 seems to crash when the "screenshot levelshot" command is executed. Does any of you use "r_mode -1"? Does your SoF2 crash when you type "/screenshot levelshot"? Please post here.

Nice! Btw I mean all @sounds too, cause some are disabled by cg_disablevoicechat but some still works.

And since this is gonna be a final version with no update in a long time (?) maybe you could add 1 command that explains all the mod features, or atleast the ones you need to know (/3rd, /sounds, /smileys, etc)

Like : /help or /RPM

Or is there one already ? :P

There is no help command. I'd rather add everything to the Settings menu, since that seems more user friendly. The Settings menu already includes the 1st/3rd toggle. I can include a Smileys button and a Sounds button there, added to the suggestions list.

I use r_mode -1 and I don't get any problems when I type /screenshot levelshot

Just successfully saves some .tga file :)

Please someone get this error too so, max can fix this and so people will stop think I RQ when 2nd round starts.


Carl sent me his sof2mp.cfg files. Using these files, SoF2 didn't crash for me anymore upon "screenshot levelshot". So it's probably some video setting causing the crash. I haven't looked into this yet, but I'm confident that I can find out which setting causes it. Then I'll make sure that no levelshot is taken when that particular setting is enabled.

***IMPORTANT***

Since there are no more suggestions, I'll add the suggestions from the opening post soon and release the FINAL version. So if you have any suggestions, please post asap!

Is it possible to make % and " visible in-game? Those kind of tekens are shown as a ''.'' in-game.

That's implemented in the engine, so fairly impossible to enable.

DevaZ also suggested the use of the ^ character, but enabling that would be a mess.

hi there, first of all i want to say GREAT WORK mr. max, you are doing really well, like it :)
Our server was one of the first which was running the new serverside mod and i wanted to collaberate some time earlier with you but i was very busy..

Now i hope that i finally can give a little contribution to your development.
So do iam the only one getting the following Error while trying to play my recorded demos?
Is it possibly due wrong settings on my cfg or anywhere? i really dont know, so maybe you can clear up this problem. :)

Thats not the problem, the real problem is sof2 makes a lot of symbols look like a ".". For example you can't say é or ç.

replace it with one of the existing but underused chars maybe? like printer icon, snowflake one or whatever
doesnt matter where it comes from ppl prob want it for 'cool' name anyways (rocket^)

Max, could you release another beta specially for me that fixes the sound thingy while floating around with camera (or speccing the enemy)? I will be recording the in-game sound for the frag movie. It won't be loud, but it will be there, so it's not just footage+music, the sounds add some feeling to it. If it sounds really bad on some occasions I could always turn down the volume in the mixing. Not needed today or tomorrow, but if you got time next week to check it out?

Are you unable to play demo's at all, and get that error at the start of each demo? You should always get the CL_ParseServerMessage message after a demo playback has been completed. That happens because of the demo fixing (I guess GodOrDevil didn't bother to fix it). Perhaps I can make it disappear, I'll look into it. Thanks for the suggestion, added to the list in the opening post. Also, I'll add the following anyway (from the opening post):

  • Playback: After demo playback has been completed, you get the CL_ParseServerMessage error and return to the main menu. Add a Demos menu to the main menu, and return to that menu instead.

I'll start working on the suggestions list soon. I'll make sure this is the first thing I work on, and let you know when it's finished, so you get a premium :excl: beta version. Should be finished by next week.

everyone should be using the same RPM(assuming final version) anyways..shifty should disallow older rpms(hitsounds anyone?)
