Good suggestion. I'll look into it. Also, I've looked into the bug in the previous post but couldn't find a quick fix for it.

would be cool if you could make maxping's for teams.

so, for example you could set sv_bluemaxping 200 and it would only effect blue team (on h&s -> seekers)

Would help to keep the mega rangers out of seeker team :)

it would also be cool if eventeams took the team-maxping's into consideration when it forces people too

I've added an admin log the the mod yesterday. Here's a sample: http://www.2k3server...m/rpm/admin.log

It logs the following actions:

[Add S-Admin]
[Add Admin]
[Add B-Admin]
[Add Sysop]
[Add Clan]

[Remove Clan] (ditto for ClanListRemove)
[Remove Admin] (ditto for AdminListRemove)

[Ban]
[Subnet Ban]
[Unban]
[Subnet Unban]

What do you think? Should the kick command also be logged? Or is it not important?

This weekend I've recoded the competition mode system in order to remove the bugs (wrong score and spectator invite bug). The recoding will also help me add Baris's idea for CTF competition mode. Below is the plan, please let me know what you think.

Spectators are locked at all times (even during during warmup). Invites can be made at all times as well (even during during warmup). This way you can
invite spectators before the match will be started.

Invites are saved between all status changes. For example, if you restart the map during a round or a warmup, the invites will be saved. The team
swap (R_1_SWAP) will swap the invited specators team once.

Red and blue team are unlocked only during warmup and locked at all other times. This way, swaps can easily be made during warmup.

The statuses are the following:

1. Enable compmode (!comp)
  • Red & Blue team: unlocked
  • Status: R_1_WARMUP
  • Note: Warmup. Screen message is printed every second.
2. Map_restart command (!mr)
  • Red & Blue team: locked
  • Status: R_1_READY
  • Note: Restarting takes 5 seconds.
3. Map has been restarted
  • Red & Blue team: locked
  • Status: R_1_STARTED
  • Note: Round 1 started. At the beginning of each round, show first round scores.
4. A team hit the score limit
  • Red & Blue team: unlocked
  • Status: R_1_SWAP
  • Note: Warmup is started. Teams are swapped automatically when the next round begins (this happens 5 seconds after the scorelimit has been hit). This will also swap the spectator invites.
5. Round has been restarted and teams have been swapped
  • Red & Blue team: unlocked
  • Status: R_2_WARMUP
  • Note: Warmup. Screen message is printed every second.
6. Map_restart command (!mr)
  • Red & Blue team: locked
  • Status: R_2_READY
  • Note: Restarting takes 5 seconds.
7. Map has been restarted
  • Teams: locked
  • Status: R_2_STARTED
  • Note: Round 2 started. At the beginning of each round, show the total scores.
8. A team hit the score limit
  • Red & Blue team: locked
  • Status: None -- compmode is disabled
  • Note: Teams remain locked so that players can't join a team while players take a screenshot. Total result and second round awards are shown.

The rewards are always for the 2nd round and doesn't include stats from the 1st round.

As it is now, reset scores for 2nd round, cause it shows who were the best players of 1st and who were the best of 2nd. Also, if you sucked 1st round you have a chance to become mvp on 2nd.

as it is now is better


The rewards are always for the 2nd round and doesn't include stats from the 1st round.


played scrim on a 1fx server today and its the last time i will do so

but they had rewards for both rounds, when round 1 was end it came the rewardlist and when round 2 was end it came also

can u fix this 2k3?

It's nice the way it is that the scores get reset in between rounds.

I agree with nicla, rewards for both rounds would be sweet.. just like OSP had it on gold :(

Logging seems cool, could make it log kicks in a seperate file? since it's not so important and gets done alot leading to the logfile being big and harder to find the other admin actions.

That's a nice idea Niclas, I'll add it to the mod.

And I'll keep the scores like they are (reset after first round).

What do you guys think of my competition mode plan? Is it OK like I described it (e.g. teams unlocked during warmups and locked at all other times)?

The logging will be done in a separate file named admin.log. Just like games.log and qconsole.log, it will be located in the RPM root directory.

The maximum pings for seekers shouldn't be too hard to implement. When the number of seekers function is called (on connecting, eventeams, joining a team manually) it should take the ping of the player into account. We can take a snapshot of the ping. Should the ping of the seekers be monitored constantly as well or is this superfluous?

Your ping idea sounds perfect :(
It would be real nice to have a command for the amount of consecutive seconds they can be over the limit aswell as the max ping for seekers command.

Wouldn't it be better to put 1st+2nd round scores together in the awards? Cuz if you make 1 awards for 1st and 1 for 2nd, you have to take ss of those both (for those who like to ss awards) + you don't get to know who gets the awards for the whole match, like most headshots of the match, most overall score of the match, most knife kills of the match - since you're thinking of adding the 1st round awards.

Is it really neccessary to have kicks logged? I don't think it's major enough to log but I might be wrong. The main problem were bans and unbans as far as I know. "Who unbanned this unpleasant player?"

Probably a snapshot of the ping would be be adequate as well, I don't think that constantly monitoring is needed (sv_maxping works with a snapshot as well). Players would need to have a ping lower than specified in order to join the team. During connecting, eventeams and manually joining the ping will be considered.

The compmode looks ok tbh, couldn't find any flaws in it or so. And in case if you want to do a sub during the match, you can always lock/unlock by yourself.

Also the other suggestions sounds nice :(
