Max here is a very serious suggestion!

The suggestion is, is it possible to control the sounds separately?

With the command "/s_volume" or by playing with the sounds volume in the options, you change the volume of the game.

Now the thing is, I personally have s_volume on 0.016 which is very fkn low. The reason for this is the fact that the shotgun sound is so damn loud, I get a headache if I hear it. So my sounds are now so low that I can't hear anything almost. Well I can hear everything but as low as possible.

I would love to hear the footsteps properly, but then I'll also have to hear this damn loud shotgun. So therefore this request.

I know all the sounds of the weapon can be found in the musicandsound.pk3.
And there are 2 maps in it caleld; ''music'' and ''sounds", and both of these maps can be controlled separately. So is it also possible to go deeper in the "sounds" map (which contains all the sounds of weapons and more) and toggle the maps of the most used guns to it's own volume?

It must be possible right? I think many players would like to manage their sounds manually. It would be a much used feature.

If possible, I can also think of a nice way to get it away in your ''settings'' window.

for heldro, put ts voluem higher or sof2 sounds lower. simple.

I have never written or asked to change the particular sounds. Everything remains the same, but when I raise the sound because I want to hear the footsteps better I don't want to hear the shotgun or AK as if someone is shooting a gun next to me in real life.

I mean I CAN GET proper sounds to hear them footsteps right, but these shotgun & ak sounds damage my ears. You keep the default sounds of teh shotgun, ak, footsteps, nades or w/e. The only thing is, you give them all it's own volume, so people can adjust this to their own

i agree with that baris im in idea of making soundpack with low sounds of weapons but footsteps clearly and enable it with fp its like an update of rpm

lol.........ak/shotty sounds are supposed to be louder than walkin or atleast mask the running sound...thats the whole point of it, i.e when u hear a big fight going on u can jst bf faster if u run, else ud have to walk not to get owned. thats specially true in 1.00 where ull be 3rd camped when someone hears y0 n dat. etc, so many examples lol.

I've used 3x louder footsteps for a few days in the past (mp_kam2 CTF). It was almost as powerful as a wallhack in that map. So yeah, I'm against louder footsteps. I guess you'll have to damage your ears, like I used to.

Do you suggest removing the admin protection? Not sure how server admins feel about that.

Damn.. well ok I respect your decision even though I wasn't planning to abuse with 3x more louder footsteps. I've been playing with loud volume in the past, and I was kinda wh then already (not only kam2, but any map). I could hear anything in front, behind or a side of me. With or without shotgun shooting. It's just that over the years I've started to realize that I was killing my ears so I started neglecting the sounds even though it's a big part of the game, and therefore I made this suggestion.

Anyway a suggestion can be accepted or declined, w/e guess I just need to live with it.

About a newer client version. Max I made a big suggestion some time ago, about how to improve RPM for ctf maps. That was a big kind of thing, and there are so many several smaller things to work on. Anyway, I can not force you to bring out a newer RPM, and maybe it's not really really necessary, but that H&S and Zombie mode thing start to piss me off. They get all the attention :P .

Before I end this post, I was wondering. I know you can write scripts in sof2. I have none of them at the moment, but I remember people telling me that you can put jump/crouch on 1 button so you can "jump higher".

What If I say that "fire1" (or however it is called) is pressed the s_volume changes for a certain time (couple of seconds) and then goes back to default again (which louder). I know I'm describing it like a mongoloid but you will understand I guess.

I mean u got everything already in the game so what more lol seems like ur looking desperately for new suggestions :P The CTF suggestion isnt really worth working on baris since CTF is dead. There were plenty of scripts for crouching \ jumping but they certainly dont make u jump HIGHER lol.. and about the volume thing u can just make ur own binds, I think u know that u can bind multiple things on 1 key so there u go but ull put too much focus on tweaking sounds than actually playing -> sucking :P

And about the x3 sound footstep, this is pure soundpack since what matter the most in a good sound pack is how the steps's sounds are and not some songs while u pick up the case or switching to knife or whatever it consists..
